Editorial Policy and Independence

How Service Tech Reviews protects editorial independence, verifies claims, handles corrections, separates commercial relationships and updates content.

Published August 27, 2026 by the Service Tech Reviews Editorial Team

Service Tech Reviews publishes research to help readers evaluate business, technology and professional-services providers. This policy explains how editorial decisions are made, how evidence is assessed, how commercial relationships are separated from conclusions and how errors are corrected.

Editorial Independence

Editorial conclusions are based on the evidence available to the research team and are not sold to providers. A company cannot purchase a favorable score, ranking position, comparison outcome or recommendation. Providers may supply factual information, demonstrations, documentation or corrections, but they do not receive final editorial control.

How Topics and Providers Are Selected

Coverage is chosen based on reader relevance, market importance, category fit, available evidence and the usefulness of comparing alternatives. Inclusion does not imply endorsement. Exclusion does not necessarily mean a provider is weak; it may reflect scope, evidence availability or editorial prioritization.

Sources and Verification

Research may use provider websites and documentation, product demonstrations, contracts or pricing material supplied for review, public filings, standards bodies, government sources, reputable industry research and other primary or well-supported sources. Material claims are checked against the strongest available evidence. Provider-supplied claims are identified or contextualized when independent verification is limited.

Reviews, Comparisons and Rankings

Comparisons are designed around buyer-relevant criteria rather than a single universal winner. Evaluation can include service scope, operating model, implementation effort, pricing structure, security and compliance, reporting, support, geographic coverage, limitations and fit for different buyer profiles. The site’s How We Review page explains the broader evaluation approach.

Commercial Relationships and Affiliate Compensation

Service Tech Reviews may have commercial relationships with companies covered on the site. Compensation can support publishing operations, but it does not guarantee inclusion or a favorable conclusion. Editorial staff should not change factual findings or comparative judgments merely because a provider is a customer, advertiser, sponsor or affiliate partner.

Where a page contains an affiliate relationship or another disclosure that is material to the reader, the relationship should be disclosed clearly enough for readers to understand it.

Provider Review and Right of Reply

Providers may contact the editorial team to flag factual errors, outdated information or missing context. A provider’s disagreement with an opinion or weighting is not itself evidence of an error. Material factual corrections are reviewed against documentation before changes are made.

Corrections

When a substantive factual error is confirmed, the page should be corrected promptly. The team may update wording, pricing, feature availability, policy details, citations or other material facts. Significant changes may also require a new reviewed or updated date.

Content Updates

Service categories change over time. Pricing, service coverage, certifications, leadership, product capabilities and contract terms can all change after publication. High-impact content is reviewed periodically and may also be updated when credible new information becomes available.

Use of AI-Assisted Tools

AI-assisted tools may be used to support research organization, drafting, classification, formatting or quality checks. They do not replace editorial responsibility. Material factual claims, conclusions and published copy remain subject to human review.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors should avoid undisclosed personal or financial conflicts that could reasonably affect coverage. When a conflict cannot be avoided, the appropriate remedy may include disclosure, reassignment or excluding the conflicted person from the decision.

Professional, Legal and Financial Information

Service Tech Reviews provides general informational research. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical or other regulated professional advice. Readers should seek qualified professional guidance when a decision depends on their specific circumstances.

Feedback and Accountability

Readers and providers can use the site’s Contact Us page to report factual errors, outdated information or concerns about this policy. Submissions should identify the page, the disputed statement and supporting evidence where possible.

This policy should be read together with About Service Tech Reviews and How We Review.
